good choice. I try to avoid cities but I found Tucson to be manageable. A month will give you time to explore the area. I thought the Arizona Sonora desert museum was worth a visit. Whoever told you Asahidake is the best spot terrain wise besides Hakuba valley is clueless. The only reason to go to Asahidake is to ski the peak. I have done this and left right after as saw no other terrain really worth our time. Spend 10 minutes on google earth or cal topo slope angle shading. The...
