It’s a shame if lessons are buried for liability reasons as everyone, especially patrollers, but also recreational backcountry skiers who would effectively face similar unmitigated conditions could use the lesson.

RE rerouting of US 6

Check out a satelite image, it wouldn’t require going through Loveland Valley geographically. There is acreage west of Loveland Valley that is not exposed to the Sisters. Would require significant grading or bridge work though, so probably will never happen....
