In the snoteldata folder there is a .zip file called usadata.zip that is filled with a bunch of .pngs and afile called snotelwithlabels.kml. There is also a subfolder called kml with the same files in it.Comment

Thanks for the info. Does the kml subfolder also have a file called: snotelwithlabels.kml ?I love my family. Kids are the best.

Well I think it is the amount of snotel data points that is causing the issue. I uploaded a new app package, so if you have it installed you will get an update. I changed the way it checks the data. Please try out the option for BC and let me know if those points work for you all. Thanks again for the feedback! This will be a nice app with everyone help.I love my family. Kids are the best.

Nice job! Works great on my S4 running 4.3 (CM 10.2 9/26 nightly) as far as I can tell. I'll chip in a few bucks if I end up adding it to my quiver.

Yes, the subfolder does have this file.
I updated my phone's firmware to the latest version and updated to the newest version of the app. I now get no Google Earth data, no snotel labels, and the app crashes after about 30 seconds every time.Comment

Thanks for the ca.gov link. That is some good data! I am using the NRCS data right now...1. SnoTels weren't showing up for me. Just zooming around on Google Earth. Razr Maxx (OG) running 4.1.2.
2. Abraham is referring to the CA Department of Water Resources' CDEC: http://cdec.water.ca.gov/snow/current/snow/index.html Good call.I love my family. Kids are the best.

I'm on a gs4. Seems to be working fine. Haven't updated since my earlier post. As it stands its better than navigating the snotel sites on my phone, but it would be nice to be able to view data in the app. Maybe something to work toward in the future?Comment

@Abraham, are you thinking the minute, hourly, daily, info? I updated the way the data is displayed and will update the play store tonight after work.
Sending it in Dynafits using TGR ForumsI love my family. Kids are the best.

Ok Powfolk! I've updated the app in the app store, so if you have it downloaded it should update in the next 24 hours. I changed how the data is loaded so I hope the blank screens are filled with snotel love.
Any suggestions or thoughts, I'm all ears. I'd like to make this very friendly and worthwhile to use.
Thanks everyone for the feedback.I love my family. Kids are the best.

I was specifically thinking that since the sensors semi regularly have bad readings that a bit of context would be useful. Just to know is it really 45F or has it been 15 up until an hour ago.
Also I think on the initial view of the site it would be nice to see temp. Up here the temp can very easily make or break a day.
I'll look at the update and give some comments again. I really like having this available, last season i spoke to a friend about something like this being useful since ski areas now have their own apps with conditions. Its a way to use the same tools out of the area or catch some of the marketing bs that happens most storm cycles.Comment

Ap "stops working" after a couple minutes & before I can get to any useful info... HTC thunderbolt running 2.3. Not rooted."Those 1%ers are not an avaricious "them" but in reality the most entrepreneurial of "us". If we had more of them and fewer grandstanding politicians, we would all be better off."

Thanks for the feedback! I think it is a memory issue there. There are over 1700 points being added to the map. Can you try and select BC as your data option and see if that still force closes the app? There are much fewer information markers for BC. That will at least narrow that part down.... Thanks!I love my family. Kids are the best.
