I might do a thxgiving day trip from Tahoe. Depends on what terrain opens, if any, after this next storm rolls through.

I’m in need of a Mammoth fix, but waiting for slightly more terrain before I make the drive.

That was taken at the bottom of ch2, coverage up high was pretty decent. I was able to get under monument & the paranoids when the traverse opened, pretty fucking good…

Been out on the mtn since 10:00 a.m. this morning. There’s 5”-7” of thick spongy new snow. It’s fun if you can find it untracked. Not really snowing much right now.
Chair 1 went down and people were stuck on it for at least 45+ minutes. Looked super cold.

It snowed last night and Mammoth is still under the hose! Ski patrol weather page showed snowfall rates of 2-3" per hour from 12:00 a.m. on.

Tree's off the back deck. Loving this view. Haven't seen a plow in our part of town since last night so plan accordingly to get up to the mtn. Have a powder day!

Really good start to the season. In classic Mammoth style, they could not get Chair 1 to spin yesterday. Seems like a lot of terrain could have been open, but operations was not up to the task.

Regardless, coverage is great considering how early in the season we are.

Totally. 17% of last year's total before turkey day. Hoping we revert back to the big Decembers of '21 & '22 as a second act...

After a late start Tuesday due to delayed opening skied til closing. Found plenty of deep, thick pow and by the end of the day some fun wind blown snow. From noon til closing I never waited in line for more that 1-2 minutes. The sun is out today so that may change. Here's a couple pics from Tuesday.

Visibility was tough at times so I spent most of the day in the tree's.

Plenty of fun, lower angle lines with no tracks.

Winds were ripping by the end of the day with some runs buffing out. Lookers left of Rodgers Ridge had fun wind blown snow and was rock free. Just check it up at the bottom.

Last run of the day at 4:00 p.m. I can here patrol blasting and it looks like the winds have dropped so it's time to head up. Have a good day and ski safe.

Nice update and thanks for the new thread. Obligations have me at the Beach until December 15th but I am so ready. Like Boomer said, praying for a deep December. Wow 20k posts.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Pre-Thanksgiving wind buff at Mammoth is straight up super extra. Jealous.

Heading up Friday through Sunday. Will post some pictures. Looking promising with great weather. The not so great part is that the next 2-3 weeks will be dry. Glad to see this storm get enough coverage for plenty to get opened.
