Yea, I think someone would eventually realize those are the options after talking to the “manager.” When the “manager” has to have that conversation 50 times a day is when they put the RFID gate at the boundary.Comment

Yes. Morons. And Tourons.
But it could be like a backcountry gate. With big warning signs. You are leaving the resort.
Say you have ikon. Ski Alta. Want to end up at the bird to hang with friends. Doesn’t make sense to burn a bird day just to gravity down the other side of the ridge.Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers

Brain fart. I always forget about the lower crossovers. Just started getting back to lcc after decades of elsewhere.
But criss cross. Say you want to go from mineral to Alta to finish. Why scan?
PS. Like the “rocket surgery” phrase. I’m stealing that.Kill all the telemarkers

In case there's any SW ridge scramblers in here.
Recreation area closed during construction. How do locals feel about the 16 towers going up on Superior?
I have a FB frond that's clearly very upset about em so I'm curious what others are thinking.dirtbag, not a dentistComment

I don't have any personal skin in the game, but the few friends (and friends-of-friends) of mine who help with the howitzer are generally happy so that makes me think it is worth the visual impact.Comment

We know you love seeing the work that @UDOTavy does to keep all travelers safe and mitigate avalanche danger as best they can in both canyons. Well, we have an exciting construction project this summer that is going to modernize and increase the efficiency and safety of their operations: The Mt. Superior Avalanche Mitigation Project begins Monday, July 8. We will be installing 16 @wyssen_avalanche_control systems towers, a type of Remote Avalanche Control System (RACS), in Little Cottonwood Canyon (SR-210) on 📍the Mt. Superior ridgeline above the road. This project will help us transition away from the P-Ridge Howitzer that has been used on the south side of the canyon, shooting over the road and buildings in the @townofaltaut to being operated remotely. We’re anticipating installation to be complete in October 2024, in time to start using them this winter. Swipe for more details on what to expect during construction and details on the area closure. The sense of entitlement is staggering. I'm sure the same people were shitting themselves in rage this winter over the closures.
But what are all the S ridge lovers gonna do this summer? Clearly there are no other scrambles in the area that are already a Strava segment, how will they spray??
Driving down from Brighton yesterday I was reminded that we had entered the oh so pleasurable canyon construction season. Alternating traffic on the bridge below Storm Mountain was really slowing things down but this dude really didn't help:
Right below the powerplant. No idea how he managed to roll himself, the road isn't perfectly straight but those aren't exactly high-speed sharp curves. Strong effort!"Your wife being mad is temporary, but pow turns do not get unmade" - mallwalker the wiseComment
