    Crystal Mountain Becomes Alterra

Didn't see this posted anywhere yet:

Alterra Mountain Company is a family of 19 iconic year-round destinations, including the world’s largest heli-ski operation and owner of Ikon Pass.

Is Alterra as bad as Vail? Are they going to ruin RV parking and Northway/Soutback

One of two things. Kircher fluffed it up and sold it for a tidy profit or his line of credit was all ate up.

My inlaws are founders, so we're wondering if the lift pass dividends will continue. They have been oddly delayed in form processing this year, except of course for the parking permits.

Aside from discontinuing the Northback shuttle, Kircher may have improved the infrastructure at the expense of the sidecountry but there were elements of exclusion and a lack of managerial concern for community. I wonder if the new management will be any different.

                  Sounds like a plan doc.

While small $s in the bigger skier budget picture. The season pass pricing thing seems perilously close to Illegal to me. Coercive early sale to secure low price and then underselling that price.

I'm sure that founders are going to be even more squeezed than they have been recently... CMAC, Condo and Alpine Inn owners too.

I hope they tell kirchers to pack up and leave the industry.

Last founders club meeting I went to, it was explained that the ticket rights run almost with the land, so there is no real way for an resort owner to divest themselves of that burden short of closing and letting the operating permit lapse, which would be a real case of Russin roulette.

It'll be interesting to go to this years meeting in a month or so

The forms are to be mailed tomorrow as per the Founders club website

No. It has gone UP by $100 since the early pricing cutoff and they have only added resorts since then. IOW, the value keeps getting better, especially if you bought early.
