    Help a paraplegic buddy out.

Long story short, my friend Gael had his service dog taken away from him for supposed leash infractions. He had a great service dog named Elon who accompanied him EVERYWHERE. Elon was hiking along side him as he rode his handcycle to the top of Hidden Peak at Snowbird. If any of you ski the Bird you know this is a monumental achievement for a handcyclist. Anyhow the rest of the story is here at his petition:

    Done and done!

All the way to the top by hand, impressive. I can't do it with legs, not without a push near the top.

Thanks Johnny. I about died when I tried to ride to the bottom of Little Cloud and I have two good legs as well. That mountain is a steep bitch in the summer time too.

Come on now Mags. I know some of yall have a few seconds.

        Done.

Seriously though? Taking away a service dog for doing exactly what is was tasked to do? That's low.

Signed, hope the dog is returned.

I don't know what the watershed ruling is on service dogs and I don't particularly care. Sounds like he'll take the steps necessary and they should give him the chance.

Law enforcement here starts out at $16/hr, that price doesn't buy genius.

Canine Companions for Independence, as the link says, were the ones to provide and then take away the dog. Perhaps they hire from the same pool as your law enforcement?

Thanks guys for all helping my friend out. He's been really sad with Elon gone and was starting to lose hope on getting him back. It has brighten up his mood to know that so many people what to help bring Elon home. It really means a lot to Gael and he says thanks.

The first picture is them training together and the second is when they make it to the top of Hidden Peak at the end of the summer. I don't know what CCI is talking about Elon looks perfectly safe on top of the mountain with Gael.

Done. Best of luck to Gael and Elon!

has gael pursued legal options? I'm sure he's tried everything- just feel like actually taking them to court to get his dog back might be more effective than a bunch of random internet people signing an online document, no?

hope he gets the dog back!
