Ski all season (2011) in the Swiss Alps - For Free?

Some of you will have seen this before but for those of you that have not heres the deal.

If you like the idea of living in a chalet and skiing all season, but dont like the idea of working a six days a week, take a look at this.

We are a British family of 4 living in Switzerland, we have a private chalet that we use on the weekends and swiss school holidays.

We would like to find chalet helpers/ or chalet couple to look after it (and us) for the winter season, not just as house keepers but people who love to ski as well.

What that means is you help out on weekends then get to ski or do your own thing for the other 5 days of the week of the week.

Typically we would arrive most weekends on a friday night, and leave Sunday evening. We would expect you to do regular household chores, cooking, cleaning, occasional child minding (ages 6 and 9 ) , ski teaching, and other helpful activities ensuring a stress free weekend. In return you get a whole week to do what you like.

Occasionally we may have house guests, and school holidays mean we would stay for longer periods which is an extra work load, but not a disaster.

The chalet is in a well known resort in central Switzerland. Local Skiing (70 km sq) is literally 50 yards from your door. Other famous ski areas such as Engleberg, Wengen, Grindlewald, Murren , Gstaad, Andermatt,Adelboden are within easy reach.

Your accomodation is inside the chalet in a fully segregated 2.5 room appartment (Sleeps 3-4)
and is at your disposal. During the week of course you can use the full facilities of the chalet when it is empty.

We would like to hear from genuine applicants, preferably a couple, naturally you should be capable of doing all the above without difficulty, or attitude.

I should make clear that this is not a job or salaried postion. So its not for every one.

What you do in your own time is up to you of course.

Helping out on the weekends is slavery? So that you can live in one of the best ski regions on earth.

Feel free to get a -paid- job as a dish pig on your little hill then.

Seems like a pretty decent deal for a couple that could split the duties up. Especially if you are ski bums looking to shred in Europe for a winter and you can't get a work permit. Place to live, probably pretty nice place right on the mountain in exchange for Nanny duties. I would not really call this a "slave" offer.

FYI, this should be moved to the Jobs forum

If I remember correctly, you posted the same thing last year. Did you find a chalet sitter/slave, and how did it work out for you?

Oh, and would you be needing help to satisfy the little Mrs ????

Depends on number of applicants, and what kind of ski pass, is wanted, there are so many ski resorts and different people want different things.
I should make clear that this is not a job or salaried postion. So its not for every one.
If you want make a genuine application, then PM me, and we can get into more detail.

Verbier if I remember correctly. At least I think that's where Nix's last two chalet person gigs were based. Search for the older listings.

how bout a 24y/o male with a likable demeanor, hard working attitude, and I can cook!.(My specialty is BBQ and Italian, but I can learn what you brits like). I make friends everywhere I go, have my Avy 1 certification, and know basic EMT skills as both my parents are in medicine. I am good with kids and parents alike. My only problem is that, like most dumbass americans, I can only speak english and enough espanol to be dangerous. Please consider this as a serious application, I just need to renew my passport.

                              NIX,

WHY DO YOU NEED NEW CARETAKERS EVERY YEAR? THAT DOESN'T SPEAK WELL FOR THE 'JOB' YOU OFFER. SEEMS LIKE PEOPLE LIKE THIS FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS AND STICK WITH IT, OR THE PEOPLE HATE IT AND BOUNCE.
