HELP WITH SKI CHOICE, 1ST JH TRIP

1st ever trip skiing outside new england is planned for 2/3/09 through 2/7 to jhmr. i am hoping for some guidance/suggestions/advice choosing which 1 or 2 pair of skis to take, from what i have available. i am 55 years old, 5' 10", 210 lbs. (naked...unknown with all clothes/gear on) and been getting down some of what's in mass, vt, and nh for many of the last 50 years. i can get down most everything with out much trouble, am occasionally anxious pushing off something steep and icy...but ok once going, never required base layer replacement. what i'm considering:

-new to me..the original atomic powder plus , 180 cm..with 614 atomic ride bindings mounted with the original ess var brakes used..placed on the off centered markings for my boot sole length...i tried these at okemo last week in the hardpack/icy groomers and was able to get down fine but found them extraordinarily PONDEROUS. they made switching to my every day skis a joy.

-177 atomic r:ex... my every day ski

    -185 atomic m:ex

-186 and 192 dynastar atv 4x4...former every day skis

-186 dynastar powertrac 4x4...the only experience i've ever had floating in champagne powder, 8"-12" several years ago at burke mt. was on these skis.

    -194 or 195 dynastar bigs-the 95mm waisted ones...no 'nobis' graphics

all these skis are mounted with atomic race, ride, xentrix, or neox bindings, so, i have a little fore/aft adjustement ability, if that's helpful.....appreciating any time anyone spends offering opinions to help...john w.

I like my Fischer Watea 101's. Personally, I would pick the widest you have. Why not get there and see what the conditions are like....... then go demo crazy.....like a new girl everyday.

        Bigs for big snow
R:ex since its your everyday crutch
        end of discussion

Powderplus seems to kick your ass,so I doubt you will magically rise to the occasion. You are a sidecut queen, so sell those skis to someone that will let them run.
        Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
        Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

Take whatever ski you are most comfortable on...likely your 177 atomic r:ex.

If you're sking packed powder or groomers you should be comfortable. If it is dumping go rent some powder skis. No sense trying to calculate everything ahead of time. Travel light and rent...then when the airline loses your stuff or it arrives late...you don't care. Never hurts to carry-on your boots.

                  DO YOU LIKE CHEESECAKE?

                  YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! CHEESECAKE.
Hey d-bag - here's something for you to think about: maybe (just maybe) not everybody here has their little panties in a wad 24/7 and flies into a rage whenever somebody disagrees with them. Maybe these same mags don't take this place uber-seriously. Maybe this even includes the vast majority of the people who post here as opposed to you and like 20 other thin-skinned douchebags. Just something to think about. -JER

Rossignol 7XK's, or K2 5500's would be optimal.

http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=41028 is a little old but is still a good starting point. I bought a pair of bros a while ago as a west coast ski, but found they rip EC hardpack and ice as hard or harder than anything else I've been on. Truly a quiver of one.
