    Old School Bump Skiers

here's a time machine for us

I know I'm not the only one that spent years zipperlining.
I may only be 30, but there's some hard miles on this chassis.

2020 Edit: the original title of this old thread was “old school bump fags”...back in the day, that was a common way to shit talk skiers who were super into moguls...feet together, knee pad fate pants, etc. As time has gone on, we’ve all learned how hurtful the fag word is to gay people, who don’t deserve any more of that bullshit. So as this thread keeps living, I’m editing the title so the fag word isn’t all over the front page all the time.
Please bear in mind, there are posts throughout the thread referencing the old thread title....but it’s really all about trying to reclaim an insult that used to be thrown at mogul skiers...not a gay/hate thing.

Being from the East I love bumps... but I'm no fag buddy.

Regardless, those are some SICK clips. Especially with the Motley Crue...

Brings back old memories with the Killington shots. Although, my dad said he was up there a few weeks ago and Outer Limits was groomed??!??! WTF? Grooming Outer Limits is sac-religious.

That shit is fascinating to watch. If I could be any other type of fag, I'd totally opt for bump fag.

long as the skis are skinny, I can bump fag like I know what I'm doing.

this shit will go down on 4/26.

that one piece combo at about 2:00 in the first video is phenomenal.

I think I may be in that first video from Outer Limits, not skiing standing in the background. I definitely recognize some of the skiers. Those were the bump fag glory days- Steve Desovich, Chuck Martin, Donna Weinbrect, Turbo, etc. all in their finest aqua blue and teal with Bolle goggles or Vaurnets.
I have a classic picture sequence that I'll have to find- we were skiing OL very late in the season with 3 of us side-by-side. I fell and completely disappeared into a trough and then in the 3rd shot you can just see the top of my head poking out of the bumps. You hardly ever see bumps with 3+ foot troughs these days.
I love all the park kids who say bumps suck. Yeah, you know why? Because it's hard to do.

YEs I used to ski back in those days i was like 13 or 14 with neon and long ass skinny skis. It definatly brings me back, I saw Outer limits, SKylark, Superstar all at Kmart. Wilderness at Whiteface as well. All pretty much the best bump trails in the country. But the one bump run that was missing is Paradise at MRG, the best bump trail in the world!!

Nothing quite like spring-time bumps. An older brother of mine used to waste family vacations to Park City lapping Thaynes all day top-to-bottom without stopping.
