It’s been really mild out in the PNW, and I’m doing my darndest to stay focused on other things.

At least this lackluster fall weather provides good reason to hit the ski conditioning training some more.

Great idea! A central snow-report thread would be super helpful for sharing real-time conditions and tips from people actually on the slopes. I’d love to follow and contribute updates from my area too.

Sunshine and Lake Louise opened early this year, limited terrain but rapidly expanding. Snowpack at Sunshine is already at late December
levels, which still means watch out for sharks, but hey that is pretty much true all season in the Canadian Rockies.

I saw back bowls at LL opened today. Banff resorts may be the place to be right now.

Lake Louise has all lifts running (Except the new Richardson Ridge, don’t know why it isn’t supposed to open until spring, looks ready to go) and is opening new terrain pretty much everyday. West Bowl full opening tomorrow.

I can’t remember a previous occasion when LL has opened so much terrain in the space of one week. I think there’s been major terrain openings pretty much every day. Saddleback/Rodney's and WH1, Paradise, Ptarmigan, Larch, Crow Bowl/East Bowl, Boomerang, West Bowl. Crazy week with lots of really good skiing.

Jealous of you Lake skiers, sounds all time. Shames is doing well with 50cms at the base, 1.2m at the Tbar and another 20cms forecast the next few days. Opening scheduled for Dec 13 and should be able to hit that date and be very nice to boot. Praise ULLR.

CO as most know has been a dry shitshow. This past week though the faucet has been slowly opening. Feels about a month behind. I've been up once on machine-made WROD at Copper and it actually skied well, but it was grass everywhere else. I'm eager to try and get back up on some natural soon.

There's only one silver lining; we don't appear to have the yearly atrocious faceted base layer in the backcountry to the extent we normally do. We usually get an October storm that looks pretty, then it dries out until sometime in November when the next snow falls. And the b/c is screwed for the year. It may be a bit better since it didn't really start snowing until now when it's been staying cold. Fingers crossed.

I read LL at first as Loveland and was like "you smoking crack? We got nothing in Colorado!"
