    Hundreds of Beavers

    HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS (2023)
This is a glorious send-up/homage to Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and Chuck Jones, but with just the right amount of goofy surrealism.

Streaming on Hoopla (https://www.hoopladigital.com) for free or on Amazon with a free trial of Fandor.

Highly recommended if you dig zany, absurdist slapstick.

Quick hit morning show interview with the director (the questions from the talking heads are lame, but the clips are cool and the director is cool):

"Man, we killin' elephants in the back yard..."

Depending on your POV the beaver is either a pest or an animal with a good publicist, but if you got beaver problems call the beaver guy

I did a hot shot for the beaver guy last year and he gave me one of his hats

The lead actor and director of Hundreds of Beavers have another film that looks like it could be just as zany…

In the 1940's 25 pairs of beavers were introduced to Southern Patagonia in hopes of creating a fur trade.
There are now over 200,000. It is an ecological disaster. At one point they considered introducing the Grizzly Bear, but common sense prevailed.
To add to the dilemma, it is cold in Patagonia, but not as cold as Hudson Bay, so the beavers fur is substandard and they spend less time hibernating and more time being beavers.
Cerro Castor, the ski area, has embraced this and their mascot is Krundi.
You can buy all kinds of Krundi Krap.

Are Cerro Castor and Beaver Mountain sister ski areas? If not they should be. Was it named for the beavers?
