Hit up a local festival yesterday after work and caught Eileen Jewell (what pipes), Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band (amazing guitarist), the Bottle Rockets, and James McMurtry. The BR’s came out to join JM for an encore.
These small events kick the shit out of the stadium shows and dress up festivals.Comment

I've seen McMurtry twice at our local 500 seat Theater in podunk Coast of Maine. Both great shows with Stephen King in attendance (King owns a local radio station up here, free speech fight the corporate power thing). Choctaw Bingo... Can't Make it Here Anymore...Comment

He's coming to our 300 capacity Knotty Pine Supper Club in August, not gonna miss that one!Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets a month or two back. Solid show. Fired up for Brit Floyd 2night.
(for the children, Nick Mason is founding member/drummer of Pink Floyd. show was entirely PF pre darkside.
Nick Mason Center. Yah. He's old. look in the mirror sometime. in case you hadn't noticed, you came along for the ride too!)

Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real last night at Webster Hall NYC.
Lukas' brother Micah has a band (or two) that opened. High energy, space man roaming the stage, Micah practically dove in to the audience at one point (straddled the barrier while passing his guitar around for people to twang on... lots o fun.
