    Spx 15 mounting

So, despite a pending divorce in about nine months, and the financial crap associated with that, the rossi site has a sale, and I had to buy really cheap ($200ish) forza SPX15s. Partly because I've run out of pivots and STH16 Steels, partly because getting into pivots in deep snow really is a pita.

So, does anyone have good templates, or is the spx pattern part of official look jigs? I have the jigarex, would not mind getting plates for it.

The other thing; am I correct in thinking the wc px15/18 brakes will work here? I forgot who did this.

    Cheers!

Can’t help with the bindings, but I’m sorry to hear about the divorce. Hopefully it works out for the best.

I mounted a pair of SPX last month. I think the paper template came from here and it worked well: https://github.com/tomahawkins/binding-templates

Toes are the same pattern as pivots, here’s the heels from my jig:

Px heels are not the same pattern as SPX heel pattern.

Yeah, I used my pivot jig for the toes, and the paper template for the heels.

Are these SPX or SPX race?

The worm screw adjusted race bindings use a different brake. That said, Look still shows a 120mm brake for the in addition to the 80's that come with the Rockerace's. The spx brakes are much easier to get your hands on

What you need is Look/Rossignol micro heel brakes. They're available in 100mm and 120mm sizes.

Your can also Frankenstein your own setup.

I've been doing a bunch of research on this very topic.

SPX Race heels are 80mm on center between screws. Standard SPX (shown on zlatham's jig above) is 105mm on center. Check before you poke holes in things.

Yeah, forgot to say the ones I've got on the way are Rockeraces, so the heel holes should be a lot more forward than that of the jig. Thanks for the links!

Thanks dude, all is well, except for the financial bit(not suffering in any way, shape or form, though).

                          Arlid,
This is a database that has paper templates for Rockerace clamps by bsl. I've used it for test mounts but not on skis. That is going to change about a week from now when I put some 15's on my super comp rc85's. If you try this before I do let me know how it works.

LT, you'll probably get there before me. I'm waiting on some rc85comps, they'll be here in a couple of weeks.

Ok, now I’m a bit confused as to which heels you actually have, but for what it’s worth the Jigarex pivot plate also has the regular SPX heel pattern included on it.
