I’ll be attempting to fix some spinners today. Got my slow set epoxy and fiberglass mat all ready. Fingers crossed.

If any of you decided to create a tool like the one i suggested a few posts back (i deleted the post), then I would revisit the idea if I were you.
The suggested tool was accurate at first, but then increasingly was not. So it was an ok idea, but it sadly did not hold up to use very well.
leason identified: when making custom tools, try them for a bit before sharing so that you are sure that they hold up to use. The idea is to help fellow mags out, not have them jump into a rabbit hole together with you. (you being me)
So my bad fellow mags, my bad.Comment

So, what happened? I've been using a variant of this for a few years with good results. If any of you decided to create a tool like the one i suggested a few posts back (i deleted the post), then I would revisit the idea if I were you.

it just was not precise enough - the clamping couldn't excert enough force / started slipping and the vertical parts weren't parallell (though, how I made the holes in the jaws was to blame for that part). I prob could've salvaged the design into something that was good enough, but I've since thought out a different design that I am keen to try, so tbc I guess.
Mounted these today - jubilations - BMT for the win, aka what I do when I do not make a fuzz in the Moment thread (oh well). My main new tourer, a sidecountry pow setup and a pair for a good friend of mine (the shorter pair).

Yeah, I talking about storage for people who aren't in a shop environment that use their epoxy intermittently.I go through G-Flex too fast for it to harden up, but you can usually soften up resin by heating it with a heat gun gently for a bit (I do this once in a while with my cheap Super Glue epoxy - just fire away at the plastic bottle). For filling holes that need some integrity I use the cut up shards of the fiberglass matt that comes with boat/shower stall repair kits.
Air, temperature differential and light will kill your epoxy. Properly stored, the epoxy should last years!Comment

I left some 2 part in an unheated room last week and it wouldnt come out of the bottle so I put it on top of a baseboard heater and it was good to go pretty quick,
i was using it to rebuild a worn/fucked up door latch striker plate area with small pieces of wood its below freezing out side so its taken a few days for the epoxy to cureLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I knowComment

Should be stored @ room temps ~70°F(21°C). By temperature differential I mean if I was to store it in the garage here where it's over 100f in summer and can get to 0 temps in winter.I left some 2 part in an unheated room last week and it wouldnt come out of the bottle so I put it on top of a baseboard heater and it was good to go pretty quick,

I have learned to read labels to see if a product can handle being frozen to -20 or -30 so I take shit in from the shed before we get into the freezing temps, ferinstance wax based chain lube doesnt like being frozen but you can water it down with ... water
Narthern BC, I don't remember the last time it was 100F ehLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I knowComment

I finally mounted these fast boys up. These were a PSA closeout last winter and they showed up just as COVID shut down the resorts. I think they cost less than $65 after shipping.
Elan Ripstick FIS GS SkiCross 33.5m radius! I think the Green Pivot 18s look really good on these.
The solid race plate was just big enough to mount the short P18 pattern. Thats my clear plexiglass "jig" sitting on top of the race plate, thats why the holes look so big. This was before I taped, measured, centered and clamped the plexiglass jig.
I was glad to use up some of my Pivot skinny brake base plate and spare parts on these.
I will report back on how these ski, or maybe even a video of me discussing my action with Safety Patrol.Comment
