Pre ordered the 190 Hybrid today. Going to give DP a second chance. Will let you know next winter how it all works out.
Marshal, I'm giving DP another chance. Will let you all know next season how it handles Utah 4% blower.................

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Pulled the trigger on the pre-order for 112's in Lipstick Red.

I love my Lotus 138's in the backcountry, but for resort days, I find that I like them in the mornings when the snow is fresh, but they become less fun as the day goes on and the snow gets packed out.

I'm looking for a ski I can enjoy all day long at the resort. Also thinking of using these as a backcountry ski.

Already looking forward to next season.

+wailer 112rp hybrid w/ alpine bindings as a dedicated inbounds every dya ski. these would see 40+ days of skiing and service everything from chopped inbounds pow, sunny days, early season groomers and bumps/harpack.

Just a quick question. Thinking about getting these for next year. I would be wanting to fill the spot in my quiver that my 190 Goatams hold. I like the goats b/c they are good in powder, not as floaty as my Hellbents (yes I wish I had 138's instead...) but they are also great when it gets packed out in the afternoon and even when it is icy everywhere they can still lay down a nice trench. Would the 112rp's be better in a hybrid version for this, or pure? If hybrid, why is that? I guess I'm just not sure.

edit: other skis i'm considering for the same hole are Bibby Pro's or EHPs

Good question. I pre-ordered the 112 pure as my inbounds/inbounds touring ski. I assumed the ss technology would dampen the ski enough to be fine in crud and cut-up. Hopefully, that is the case, because I'm starting to wonder if I should have ordered the hybrid.

I ordered the Hybrid, main reason being I just prefer a bamboo core. But I think it will as Marshal mentioned absorb a bit more of that cut up inbounds chop , which is where I want to use them.

(edit to read bamboo instead of wood)

You need to be a little strange to buy dps skis in hybrid. If you need damper feel just get the Bros, Moments or whatever (Dynastar is even better at this).

^^^Uhh... Lot of folks like the DPS designs, just want a bit damper (or cheaper) if weight/AT isn't an issue. The other companies you mention each make really distinctive feeling skis, share neither materials nor design specs, and are clearly not damper versions of DPS. So your point is??

Can you spot me $1,019. Already spent $950 on Lhasas this year and I'm running out of blood to donate.

I just want a lighter/burlier S7 for less. So seems to make sense as a playful inbounds ski. If i wanted AT I'd mount the lhasa with Dynafiddles and go eat some granola....

Also want a cheaper/safer route to test DPS........

So now I just need a good pair of clamps..........

15m turn radius on the 112RPs, 37m radius on the lhasas. They might ski a touch differently. There are, of course, other differences, but that seems like a good start.

I just wish this ski had a tail notch for skins. I will likely be using them with Dynafits for backcountry, and a tail notch is better than the black duct tape I end up using on skis with no notch. These are touted as a backcountry ski. Why no tail notch?

Pretty much what I'm thinking. New Super 7's are going for $700-800, you can pre-order the 112rp hybrid for about $700 shipped. For around the same price, I think i'd take the dps' over the rossis'..

I'm thinking these Wailers are a good candidate for Dynaduke plates. Dukes for Resort/slackcountry when I want to wear my downhill boots, and Dynafits for backcountry with my Garmont Axons. Any strange mounting issues for the all carbon ski that would make them not compatible with the Dynadukes?
