Looking for something to do a fairly basic BS in business, etc. There may or may not be some basic powerpoint stuff, depending on the program and class. I used a MacBook Air to do this, previously, and ran into disaster with the Zoom procotored tests. IT Couldn't figure it out, and I stopped attending the program due to the issues. I'm thinking the safe call is Windows, but I do love my Macs. My program was in nursing, and I was about 20 credits short of graduation. I need to switch to a business program, but I should have well under 40 credits. Point: I don't need a lifetime machine here, just something to get me through a few semesters relliably. Anyone holding? Budget is somewhat flexible.

Like $200-300. All come with a fresh winDows 10 or 11 install. I bought one recently and promptly installed Linux.

If I were buying today, I'd be sure to get Windows 11, not 10. Win 10 support stops this autumn.Originally posted by powder11if you have to resort to taking advice from the nitwits on this forum, then you're doomed.Comment

This is serving me really well (and is 30 bucks cheaper than what I paid for it). Seems like most companies make their business laptops with better construction and battery life. It seems like these used HP elitebooks are by far the best specs for the price, save maybe the disgusting-looking thinkpads.Comment

So as others have stated- go Windows 11. Windows 10 will be end of support come October. The CPU and TPM 2.0 are the 2 keys for Windows 11. CPU's supported are the Intel 8th Generation or later, and newer AMD Ryzen (listing can be found on Microsoft as well as other listings in searches)...Dell has a refurbished site- run by their finance division for selling returned from lease and trade ins that are typically 2 to 3 years old. They are also usually their better business class systems and stand up better than any big box consumer model. Typically have a few coupons for some of their models and free ground shipping.Other option is the Lenovo Think series of laptops. I'd go Intel Core i5 or higher- the newest generation you can afford for your budget without getting up into 13th and 14th generation. Or AMD Ryzen 5 or 5 Pro or higher....Comment
