1. 185cm Romp 106 Carbon Lay-up
$300 OBO
135-106-125
Carbon layup on poplar core
7.4lbs for the pair on bathroom scale
Mounted once for Guardians
I own two pairs of Romps (out of Crested Butte) — the Pintail and the 100 — that I have mounted for tele. My wife also has a pintail, but mounted with Dynafits. They make great skis, and I love their product. I purchased this ski used from Caleb at Romp at the end of last season, intending to mount it with Dynafits. Despite all the (really, indisputable) evidence that Dynafit makes more sense for me, I decided to continue to tele and thus never mounted them. I need to unload these to try to fund a carbon pintail set up.
Bases are in great shape — I’d call them 9/10. Top sheets have standard nicks and whatnot so closer to a 7 or 7.5 out of 10.
Here’s Romp’s description of the 106:
The Romp Skis 106 will make those big turns you love in any terrain. The 106 is wide enough to cut through the crud but still fast enough edge to edge for those quick turns in the tight trees. This versatile shape works great in the backcountry and can be made lighter with our carbon option.
Here’s Julia at Blister's initial impressions of the 106 (non-carbon version):
