I had the full open bankhart 20+ years ago. I was skiing in 4ish months. Do it. You don't have a choice. Half a year of your life is NBD.

You are correct. It's not a big deal. I want to get cut sooner than later really. I wake up in pain before doing anything with my arm in the AM. I want to just try to get it done on the 12th now if possible.

Tested my repair job today on a bike ride. Got distracted and dropped a front wheel into a rut and crashed, hard.

        Everything seems to still function.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Dude. You're too old to be crashing!

Kinda sore today. And 2 nice spots of road rash.

              Distractions increase logarithmically with age.

Was riding a dirt road that gets beat up during the winter/spring. Came around a corner and there was some guy squatting in the road looking at something by the river. I had to move left to get around him. No vehicle anywhere in site. He never said a word, even after I crashed, got up, dusted my ass off and swore a bunch.

                So it goes.

Nope, just sort of squatting there in the north bound lane.

Big guy, bald with a fu manchu and wearing a wife beater, it was a nice day but only about 48 degrees.

I see characters just hanging around on river road down towards the Axtell bridge. Glad yout shoulder held up!

I go under the knife on 4/19. Really not stoked, but 24/7 pain is getting to me now.

This was about 1/2 way between Axtell and 287.

You got this and will be glad you had it fixed.

Figure out how you will sleep, stock up on easy meals and buy a zip hoody that is a size too big.

I'm lucky that I will have my live in nurse taking care of me

Are you going to need a driver? I was warned not to drive one handed as the local cops like to write you for impaired driving.

I hired a student and paid them to drive me around for a few days spread over a couple of weeks.

Bozeman cops have nothing better to do?
You may want to find someone who does rolfing/structual integration. I think there are a few good practitioners in Bozeman. Acupuncture is good too.
PT is essential, but it doesn't always fix the displacement and trauma. It's just not what they do.
                              No longer stuck.

I used a steering wheel knob, like a 70 year old taxi driver from Hoboken. I made the 8 year old boy run the gears up through the 6 speed. YMMV
