Pop! And then pain below knee

    Anybody have this?

2nd year in a row I've had this injury. Left ski got hung up causing the knee to buckle. Felt a pop and pain below the knee on the outside of the leg. Alot of pain turning or bouncing around unless I keep constant forward pressure on the boot.

Sounds like it could be meniscus tear. Any instability?

Dislocated fibular head? Easily fixable by physical therapist or good chiropractor.

That seems like a possibility. Will be seeing a PT this week. Thanks.

Ortho diagnosed soft tissue damage around fibular head but it was not displaced. Great I say, how do I keep this from happening next time I ski? Told me to strength glutes to better stabilize the knee, squats, lunges, etc.

Any other suggestions? Real pisser to have this happen 4 days into a 6 day trip,

Ya. Listen to your doc and start training.

Riding bike helps, too. My fib head started moving and aching after being gimped from acl/meniscus surgeries. I imagine it got tweaked in the fall, since I fell toward it and went way over to the outside.
Luckily, I have a gf who fixes shit like that for a living.

Physical therapist can show you the way.
As for the ski trip this week you could, but I can't recommend it, find someone to prescribe a dose pack or steroid injection along with ice and just get er done. Also booster strap outside boot liner and inside shell can help support.
