    The Campaign Against Leaves

Moving leaves around is next level boomer shit. The time and energy required and spent. How much money is big leaf raking in? Stop it.

Oh, I’ve had a few boomer relatives have their nice shade trees taken down b/c of the leaf cleanup.

You would deny me the pleasure of blowing a couple of them on the neighbor's driveway. One leaf he thinks came from us and he goes apeshit.

I wait until the NW wind is blowing at a good clip and move them down the drive where they dance their way across the street into the neighbors yard. Second homeowners who hire out spring cleanup.

I blew mine @ 26 deg early am. Lots of frost all over them resulting in multiple face shots. Day 1 in the books!

My city sits in a dense forest full of 100 year old hardwoods and pines with a (thankfully) very aggressive arborist and tree-retention mindset which I love. Problem is, every single person here has lawn crews going 365 and the songbirds of fall are nothing but 2-stroke backpack leaf blowers sounding off all at once when they're allowed to at 8am.

I grind them up with the last mow of the season. Any after that will get covered up in snow.

When i complained about the raking, i was told that when i got my own house i could do what i want, but till then I better keep fucking raking if I wanted any dinner…

ain’t raked no leaf in more than 35 years.

                        don’t miss it none…

When I was a kid diving into the leaf pile was fun. Then my dad burned them. Seems quaint. No leaf piles in that neighborhood now--all the elms are gone.

When I lived in Michigan our city's policy was that everyone raked their leaves to the street and then burned them. I used to love riding the bmx bike around the neighborhood with my buddies on a cold fall day with that smell in the air.

When I used to do my own lawncare I'd just hit the lawn with the mower with the bag on. Worked better than any leaf blower and made dumping the shredded bits in the compost heap really easy. Leaving leaves on a zoysia lawn lead to dead spots come spring if I left them.

We get A lot of leaves here in CT
We grind them into mulch for flowers & veggie gardens & then mow the rest

Backpack blowers are a big thing here
