Seems to have nothing to do with the US transgender athlete debate, which is how it's being framed among certain political circles. Khelif is not transgender, is legally a female, and is identified as such on her passport. She has competed as a woman throughout her career, including the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games where she lost in the quarterfinals. It's the boxing version of Caster Semenya but Semenya won a lot more.
