    2023 PGA

Maybe I missed it, but I didnt' see a 2023 thread. Anyway, what in the actual fuck?

PGA Tour agrees to merge with LIV Golf.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2023/06/06/pga-...-liv-golf.html

Said one PGA Tour player reached by ESPN on Tuesday, "No f---ing way."

No shit, no fucking way. My initial reaction is that the PGA kinda hung guys like Rory out there to fight the good fight against LIV and then said in the end, "welp, there's a fuck ton of money to be made here. Maybe these aren't the worst people in the world after all?"

The PGA Tour and DP World Tour have joined forces with the LIV Golf League "to unify the game of golf ... under one umbrella," Jay Monahan said.

"what the fuck" was my reaction to this news as well.
"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy

It's wild to me how they kept this (whatever this is) quiet. Monahan and the Saudi PIF guy and the DP World Tour guy were all ready to go when CNBC broke the news.

Phil and Brandel Chamblee were going at it in real time and setting up a tbd debate just days ago.

ESPN had no clue, Golf Channel had no clue.

Phil and Brooks are taking victory laps.

        Interesting for sure.

It will be nice to have everyone on the same track competing, but I wish Liv had just failed.

          Brooks from the top ropes!

Turns out it was about money all along and none of the rich fucks running the PGA tour actually gave a single shit about human rights abuses. Shocking.

Everybody has a price, and LIV showed PGA the money.

PGA was always a phony non-profit. The way Rory been acting he knew something was up.

I have to feel that the PGA Tour players who stayed loyal were completely blindsided by this and likely feel like they've been punched in the gut.

Can't wait to hear takes from Tiger, Rory, Jack and everyone else that stuck their necks out on this split in the past year.

If we get Feherty back that's a win.

Honestly I found the LIV product unwatchable when it was on TV in the clubhouse. Like a Nascar feed on the left with zero flow or tension cause everyone's on the same hole for the day. Jumbled mess.

Does this mean Sergio and Poulter are now eligible for the Ryder Cup?

                              Interesting take.

I know I personally wouldn't argue with the families of 911 victims (who were the ones yelling the loudest when LIV stopped in New York). Other than that, sure, there's moral relativity everywhere if you look for it.

The hypocrisy is what really surprises me. You can't make the moral argument and then do the very thing you based that moral argument on. I don't think anyone ever faulted the guys who flat out said they were going to LIV for the money, Harold Varner III and David Feherty among them.

Jay Monahan just proved that he could take what was blood money yesterday and turn it into just investment money today; magic!

The guys who defended the Tour and spoke out loudly against LIV for a variety of reasons must be just blindsided by "their" Tour this afternoon. If I were them I'd be drafting union docs in short order. They defended the Company but in the end the Company just threw them under the bus.
