    Kentucky tornado

Dang those tornados last night fucked some places up... This is Mayfield, KY this morning They are saying the death per capita will be the highest from any tornado ever..

Like what the fuck do you do after this? Would your boss still expect you to show up and work on Monday if your building was still standing or do you get a couple weeks off to try and figure out what to do?

Saw that happening right as I went to bed last night. I have family in Kentucky and southern Ohio. They're OK BUT 200 miles of the heartland just fucking leveled.

This shit isn't supposed to happen in December that far from the gulf.. The planet is fucked!

Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

….And this morning the news spent an hour talking about Michael strahan going on a carnival ride to space for 11 min on the penis rocket.

                  Unreal. Condolences and RIP.

Possible thunderstorms here tonight. In Massachusetts. In December. wtf. With the way the wind is cranking here today if there's a strong thunderstorm anything could happen.

Never heard a tornado siren in my life and I hope I never do. Hurricanes at least you know they're coming in time to get out of the way.

It went about 5 miles north of me.

My first yr in Mo I had one very close, sounded like a locomotive. The sky was completely orange, dust wind etc.

I guess you felt like that was close enough you'd be unlikely to be struck by the next ones? I'd feel like they missed but they're just getting the aim dialed in.

Are severe tornadoes this time of year common? I assumed they were primarily a summer phenomenon. Definitely some wacky weather going on around the country.

edit: Actually all the previous most deadly tornadoes in the U.S. have happened during the spring:
A list of the 10 deadliest tornadoes in the United States since 1900:

                          — 695 deaths. March 18, 1925, in Missouri, Illinois and Indiana.

                          — 216 deaths. April 5, 1936, in Tupelo, Mississippi.

                          — 203 deaths. April 6, 1936, in Gainesville, Georgia.

                          — 181 deaths. April 9, 1947, in Woodward, Oklahoma.

                          — 158 deaths. May 22, 2011, in Joplin, Missouri.

                          — 143 deaths. April 24, 1908, in Amite, Louisiana, and Purvis, Mississippi.

                          — 116 deaths. June 8, 1953, in Flint, Michigan.

                          — 114 deaths. May 11, 1953 in Waco, Texas.

                          — 114 deaths. May 18, 1902 in Goliad, Texas.

                          — 103 deaths. March 23, 1913, in Omaha, Nebraska.

No they're not common. The root cause is heat energy in the atmosphere and there's just less of it in these months. Not as much less as formerly, though, unfortunately.
