You guys have given me a lot to consider. But I've checked for snakes, made sure the 3rd floor bathroom is unoccupied, and will spend the 3 bucks I saved on DD's boiled meats godundme.

Boil them, it's the best way to know they're safe.

Stick them in the autoclave for a few minutes while your nurse is busy. That way not only will they be sanitized they should be at serving temperature.
