        Was out for a little stroll down by the creek & almost stepped on this. Amazingly camouflaged. It never moved. Mom must have been nearby, I quickly moved on.

                  Yup, Charina bottae I saw 3 this summer, I usually only see them maybe once. We saw 5 bears this year too. Actually 6, as we saw one on a morning run in Issaquah.

                                Thanks, I was thinking it was a pretty young bear, maybe first spring on his own? It would explain his inability to deal with the wolf (who is pretty old and probably more experienced with handling other predators).
