Quick golden hour ride in local canyons. Getting real green...it's gonna be a rough year for brush if we keep getting rain.

My town is not a bad place to live as a mountain biker at this time of year.

    Evdog, those trails look amazing.

Been finding new trails on every ride lately.

Trail gnomes have been hard at work!

    From today

Usually a sunny Saturday following a few days of rain is bad news for the trails. But it was pretty quiet out there. Except for the two dirt bikes braaping it up down in the valley. Fixed up a few sections and helped a friend open up a new section of trail.

I got 3 awesome days of riding in the Santa Cruz area Thanksgiving week. Week prior got around 8" of rain, so it was hero dirt. Sure is something magical about riding in the redwoods.

Day 1, 2 laps at Demo:

    Day 2, Near Aptos:

    Day 3, Near UCSD:

Quick overnighter in the local mountains. An hour after sunset and it's still 65* at 5,000ft.

ID:	11642941 Groomed Multi Use Trail with tracks of a runner, skate skier, fat biker and a dog. Not really that much difference and no reason we can all share.

Aspen has an additional 60 miles of dedicated Nordic only trails. No walkers, dogs or bikes allowed. They hardly get used. Half the people that would have been on them, now up hill the ski areas.

Weather has been unreal here, was 71 degrees at 5:15pm last night. Nice sunset colors to go with too.

Ha! Yeah, rode my Vala yesterday after pulling another token trying to get it dialed. I rode 26 miles and 5725 vert. 20% zone 4 and the rest below. I have run it in eco the whole time and and have been in zone 4 more, but it definitely isn't even close to my grind and time in zone 5 on my regular bikes. Not saying it wasn't fun, because it was fun as hell! But make no mistake, it's not "mountain biking" in the traditional sense. I will continue to ride the Amish bikes more than the eeb for sure which may end up being hazardous to my health. I'm just not super comfy with the weight in air. Maybe in time!

    Tacky!

I rebuilt and repainted old 2013(?) steel Transition TransAm 29er hardtail this year with a carbon fork, 1 x 11 drivetrain, new brakes, carbon bars and 2.2 XC tires. I've been riding it late season as a fast XC bike and am enjoying the simplicity. You can really haul ass with no suspension on the right trails.
