He was never on the limit, because he didn't have to be. No reason to work harder than you need when you're in a 3 week tour, every effort adds up in the end. And I think he respected what Jonas might be able to do once they got to the Alps.

Funny how everyone talks about Jonas having injuries preventing him from preparing for the tour. In 2023 Pogi broke his wrist and had surgury in April, and was still undercooked come June for the tour. Jonnas beat him that season, the famous I'm dead radio call.

Yeah, it never seemed like Jonas had the juice, every move was matched by Tadej, generally with ease.</p>

Jonas was on his limit. He was in no position to make any sustained attacks. He was quoted multiple times saying "today's stage was the hardest I've ever done" I was proud of Roglic for trying for a major breakaway on stage 19. He lost 13 minutes, and went from 5th to 8th, but at least he tried and made an attempt.

does anyone think that Jonas never really committed to any of his attacks?it seemed like he'd accelerate for 50m & then immediately check to see if he'd blown the doors off the whole peloton -- what did he expect to see?I was yelling "commit & keep fucking going!"sure, maybe a particular Slovenian was climbing back on, but make him tired and make him work for itit seemed like he didn't want to risk much

Kat5 is glad its over. No more pressure to choose a leader, or make changes. I lost the household rivalry again this year, we both have different strategies in regards to making changes early or saving them for later in the tour. We never discussed if we were betting with $$, but regardless Kat5 does not want anything but congratulations from my "internet friends".

Normally, it's a sprint though so really there isnt going to be any seperation at all. Since today was set up with Montmartre, there were still some opportunities. With the weather, it would have made for some really spicey riding. lol

They normally do that, but pushed it farther out this year due to the weather.

Also, I had no idea that they froze everyone’s times so there was no GC shuffling or time changes even tho the white jersey finished 11 minutes back. Not sure how I feel about that

I guess we will never see another Lemond style last day win again

Sustained 30+ mph over cobblestones in the wet is completely insane. These guys are incomprehensibly strong.
