Those suspension bars are like $450 and half a pound heavier. I know a couple people who have them though, but I'd never go that route.

Yeah, I have the next. The 785mm one. Very stiff. LSC adjustment helps a certain amount.A lot, especially on the first 35 carbon ones. From personal experience, the RF SixC & Next (unless they're the narrow SL ones) are super stiff. As are the Renthal 35s. Even Renthal 31.8 carbon is stiff AF - I did 1 ride with those and took them off. Newer 35s (in last couple years since OneUp came out) have actually been trying to get back to feeling like 31.8.
Anyone have any feedback on Deity carbon bars? They make some with a 30mm rise by 810, and I think I might like that. Speedway? I can never keep the names straight.
Probably just get GA2 fats whenever my current grips wear out.No longer stuck.

I can't recall where I read it (maybe LoamWolf?) but in a bar shootout they said that the Deity bars were among the stiffest they'd ever used and did not like them.Yeah, I have the next. The 785mm one. Very stiff. LSC adjustment helps a certain amount.

If you like normal bar sweep (~8 degrees), just get OneUp. If you like lots of bar sweep, try the PNW carbon one. Both have various rise options.Comment

35mm seems too high for me.No longer stuck.

back in the day i bought 3 bars of different rises & sweep to try on the bike while sitting in my shed expecting to keep one
Instead I took them all back cuz I couldn't really tell the difference,
I don't really notice bar width either
ymmv but I'm an insensitive bastard ehLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I knowComment

I'm apparently a special snowflake. I was afraid they'd be really stiff. No longer stuck.

Why do most handlebar designers do rises in 10, 20, and then all the way up to 35mm? Why not more 30mm? I suppose I could lower my stem, but reach on my bike is already really long and steertube is somewhat short. It has the reach adjust thing, which seems like a pain, and as I said, the steertube is kinda short. Just changing bars would be so much easier. No longer stuck.

Counterpoint: those of us from the Church of Stack wonder why all the 35mm rise bars instead of 40mm.
Also, why do only Renthal & Truvativ make 7 degree sweep bars? I like the more aggressive position it puts my arms in, but Renthals make my hands cry.Comment

It helped me to put the pressure on the thick heel of my palm ( instead of having the bar along my first knuckles, where theres not much meat) - I thought it might be similar to how you're meant to hold a sword and looks like it just might be...
