This photo was taken in 2004, five years after I retired from FT work and in the earliest phase of my new life as a FT writer and poet. In 1999 I began to spend eight hours a day, on average, writing and reading as an independent scholar. This photo is, then, symbolic of my new life’s activity in my lifespan, in these early years of late adulthood, 60 to 80.
