Same. Explain to me how to post from Google photos like I’m a first grader.

I'm not aware of how to use Google Photos as a photo hosting site. You can share photos with friends, but not post with [img] tags, AFAIK.

If you share a photo to "anyone with the link" (easiest by adding to a shared album with that setting), you can then open the image on the Web in that shared album and copy the actual image URL.
You'd probably need to be a pretty advanced kindergarten student.
Edited to remove my attempt to do so from my phone; apparently it's still either super convoluted or maybe impossible to do so from a phone.

I think we all should start drawing our photos and mailing them to Todd

I had never gotten this to work from Google but tried just now as I've been having trouble posting the usual way from Hostgator where I host my photos.
It works, if I open the image in Google photos, right-click and copy image address. Then post here using IMG tags.
Of course I've been having a huge issue lately with Google photos where the auto backup from my phone to the cloud suddenly started filling up the free storage space and now I'm maxxed out unless I want to pay their bitch tax. I don't particularly need the Google photos service but it is a convenient way to get them from phone to computer (ext drive) where I back them up. But deleting them after backing up does not seem to reduce the % storage space used (including emptying the trash folder).

Copied from Sprockets...
Interesting. I have used hostgator for hosting pics for a few years now and just copy in the image address (URL) with IMG tags. I noticed a while back none of the pics in my past TRs display anymore. I can make it work from using a pic from a random website (AZ sunset pic below) but not from Hostgator (sunrise pic that doesn't display). Looks like older TRs using photobucket also don't display pics. Both hostgator and photobucket links work on some other local forums I post on. I removed the last ] so the text will show. Curious why linking will work from random sites but not from hostgator/instagram.
Edit to add...I can also get Tapatalk to work but at a single photo at a time it's a hassle.
My own photo from hostgator (nothing displays):

Photo from random website (photo shows up fine)

google images need to be marked as shared. Is it possible to get a link directly to the image, not some scrambled g00g3l format string?
Anyway, it looks like https://photos.app.goo.gl/kRJT9Vt7pETAa19R9 is a link to a folder. That won't work.
Get a link to the image by clicking the image, then right click to obtain the url to the image.
voila:

I know this place is running on fumes, but is there a plan to return functionality to posting photos from the App or desktop in the future? I would rather not learn to use tapatalk after using the app for so long...

I'm thankful to the IT guys for fixing the uploader (whoo hoo!). I did find however, that in editing a post, I was unable to manage the attachments, and remove a thumbnail image which attached to the end of the post.

I’m still struggling with photo uploads.
IOS devices accessing the forum via Chrome
Workflow as follows:
Touch photo icon in quick reply dialog box
Select From Computer, then Choose File | Photo Library
Select image and touch Done
Select Upload File(s)
Result: “IMG_2087.jpeg: Upload of file failed”
The file selected is already attached in another thread, so I’m guessing the selected image is not to blame.
I have 1000 images saved on the site.
Ideas?
