The moe. Thread - Ski Tour Respect

moe. I know of no other band that does an actual ski tour. (They have also historically thrown a winter party at a ski area each year called snoe.down.) That's TGR enough for it's own thread for sure. I'm a little late as it's the last night of the tour tonight, down in Fort Collins essentially on their way to DIA I assume, but it's the only show that hasn't sold out (yet) so there's still time to grab a ticket and get your fun on.

    Check this tour out:
3/6-10 Egyptian Theatre - Park City, Utah
3/12 Mesa Theater - Grand Junction, CO
3/14-15 Sheridan Opera House - Telluride, CO
3/16 Vilar Performing Arts Center (VPAC) - Beaver Creek, CO
3/17 Strings Music Pavilion - Steamboat Springs, CO
    3/19 Belly Up, Aspen, CO
3/21-22 10 Mile Music Hall Frisco, CO
3/23-24 Washington’s FoCo Ft. Collins, CO

That's some impressive shit, and there were guys from the band skiing almost every day. Playing till midnight then skiing on the daily is some serious commitment. Plus the shows kicked ass, the band is sounding pretty damn awesome, and the music rips.

Well done moe. You've come a long way from Skitchin Buffalo. Happy Hour Heros indeed.

Not a big moe. fan but find the idea rad.

I've seen several videos fromnstagram where it shows one of them (al?) ripping pow. Respectable to ski pow in the am and then play a show at night. I'd sure struggle to do that and I'm 20 years younger lol. They've gotten some good snow on this tour.

I saw them two months ago and it well exceeded my expectations. They are better than I remember them from years ago. Cool they're doing a tour like that, reminds me of what cheese used to do.

Not a hudge fan, but I did stream their show last night and they sure can shred. BTW, there are a lot of groups that do ski tours. Most iconically Greenski, and of course, Ski Tour. The dusters do it. LOS does it....

As MTM said, Dusters have been doing it the last couple of years. Caught the first SLC show in January, killed it as usual. They did live snow reports from the chairlifts during their downtime.

You could tell they skied by how short their sets were on tour this year.

Thank you St Jerry for being one step ahead of me on that. Not a new idea.
Saw 2 of those great WSMFP dates at Wheeler Opera House in Aspen.

Hard to explain what happened in A town in the mid 90s when Panic came in.

Half the towns full time residents then seemed like UGA grads that first saw the boys in a frat house in Athens, plus LSD and snowbanks & yeah

1: Let’s Get The Show On The Road > Hatfield, Send Your Mind, Radio Child, Mercy > Jam > Weight Of The World, Ain’t Life Grand, Can’t Get High, Postcard, Space Wrangler
2: Baby, Let Me Hold Your Hand, Walk On, Rebirtha > B of D > Makes Sense To Me, Gradle, Airplane > C. Brown, Climb To Safety*, Chilly Water*
E: Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys

    * with Jerry Joseph on guitar/vocals

This has been going on since forever. I saw Dave Mason at the Mangy Moose in 1989 or so. We sat up close and gave him some shit because he said he needed laser vision to see on that powder day.

Awesome. Didn't know SD was doing one too - that's fantastic.

moe absolutely ripped this tour up. If you get a chance to see 'em do it. Awesome to see Chuck back to form post stroke, and super cool to see all the new, younger fans popping up at the shows. The level of talent in this band is completely off the charts.

Happy Hour Hero from Red Rocks last summer, Jake from Umphrey's sitting in:

Probably Al, he’s a Bills fan too. The ridge connection makes sense, always wondered how they ended up doing MoeDown there a few times.

Haven’t seen them since the keyboard player joined, I bet I’d like ‘em mo betta now

Went to the one in Vail, don't recall which show. One of the bellmen at the Hyatt gave me an extra; Lordy? Not a huge WSP fan, but I seem to remember I enjoyed it.

Rumor is that the Dillon show they just announced on 7-29 will be a free one sponsored by the town. Would be pretty sweet.
