He sees my name either way. Most adults could see it and just scroll past, but some people know they can’t help themselves

I always thought I was pretty level headed and fair when it comes to reading these posts, but then I tried to be a moderator for Craig Dostie’s forum when he broke off from Telemark Tips. Harder than I thought it would be. Those were the Ron Cole days though.

I would nominate Buster but I don't think he'd want anything to do with it. But, he's a guy who understands the culture of this place over all the years and would be good at it. If not him, someone with similar experience like....Otzi??

Pretty much. Although I wouldn't call it standards. It's all about signal to noise ratio, which noises I can tolerate and which ones I can't. It's very subjective. Gary's ignore list overlaps with mine. However, we each manage to tolerate different people. For example, Jimmy Carter. He's my favorite president. And I'm able to get past any posts of his that I don't feel like reading. However, I don't see AdironRider on Gary's list. He's on mine. He could be a great person IRL and id give him a chance, IRL. However, his libertarian bleating here is not something I need to see.

Serious topic. My understanding is that the Padded Room is for goofy stuff, not always stoke. It's why I like the Padded Room. Are you proposing that there shouldn't be a forum for shenanigans? That the entire board, every forum on it, should be "stoke"?

Buster would be good if he wanted to do it. Me, on the other hand... they made me a moderator on another forum a while back. I never even learned how to do anything that the mods do, and I never did a single moderator action, except one time when I reported a post by accident. Still not sure how I did that. I'm just not moderator material I guess. I don't even have anyone on ignore.

This is obviously a job to be taken seriously, therefore I could never do it, but the original post was rather vague regarding the requirements so for those interested could you outline some of the details?

    1. Pay? Or some other compensation such as a bathrobe, or a weekend stay at the Continuum, etc?
    2. Ban meetings (are they held locally in Jackson, or on Zoom?)
    3. What is the avg number of complaints filed during a week?
    4. Are there diversity and inclusion criteria to be met that would preclude a 65 yr old white male from being considered?
