They aren't for every day, or most days, but I sure like them on a day like today. Spats barge through the heavy pow, plus I get to free my heel; what's not to like? Here they are today, somewhere in the JP zone...

As I said earlier, good stuff, and we stayed until the closing bell, when I was still finding pockets of smooth stuff here and there. Never did see you tgapp, oh well some other time, I did hit No Name soon after you pointed me there though.

I don't think he meant it the way you think he meant it.

Also, it's a legit question. There's quite a few gated ropelines at Snowbird where shitloads of people just duck the rope if the gates are open and Patrol doesn't make much of an effort to stop it.

I signed off and took a lap. Hope my meltdown was at least amusing.

Can we do a mini summit at the bird this spring so I can convince the conmentariat that I'm not insane?

Quick hitter at Alta. Got there to catch backside but slid around to gunsight>suzies. First through and creamy goodness. Got hot (collins board reading 44 at noon). Things set up wet, going to be interesting if it freezes

Honestly today was probably my favorite day of this cycle. Fast, soft, slushy bumps. Incredibly fun.

Just got into town this morning. Missed the fresh snow, but it was warm and soft in the Canyons. No lines anywhere.

Bought a used pair of Lhasa Pows on the way from the airport. Great day!

It was pretty wild how visible this crown was from the backside gate. Yoooge.

Also I probably owe an apology to the orange jacket ikon passholder who tried to cut ahead of the entire backside line when ASP opened the gate...I hope that dude isn't a lurker on here.

Either way, yellow trail skiied incredible. Perfect knee deep hero pow. Glad I didn't go for my usual hi notch line!

Covid effects have mostly dissipated, would love to see tfw, dibs, etc down SLC way en route to Silverton.

I knew something was up when I saw the heli circling flag/cardiac while on the rope. Didn’t feel right. Glad no burial but holy pucker.

What was not mentioned on UAC observation about the Cardiac slide was that the skier was traveling solo.

"I set of a 3' crown skinning up solo which didn't surprise me, but you know the skiing was excellent! I'd rather take the chance of suffocating alone and cold in a debris pile than miss 30 seconds of some basic wiggle turns I could get elsewhere! I feel aliveeeee!!!!"

Stepped off the slab as it started moving, this was a non event for me.

There's always going to be people willing to ski things I think are unwise. But the tone of some of these recent reports, the totally cavalier attitude and insistence that luck wasn't the main factor in their survival is really shocking to see in plain text.
